Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Job 1:20
At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship.
O-bservation:
This is what Job did on the day that he learned that all of his livestock and sheep and camels had been lost. Not only that but all of his human workforce had been killed, and his children had died in a terrible hurricane-like windstorm that literally brought the roof of their home down on them. Everything he had, was lost in one day. At this point, Job had a decision to make. He decided to “Worship Anyway.”
A-pplication:
How many times in your life have you had unusual news come to you that literally shook your faith to the very core of your spirit? It’s in those times that you have a choice to make. You can pack up your stuff and give up. That’s something that many people have done. You can curse God and walk away. That’s what Job’s wife encouraged him to do. Or you can “Worship Anyway.” When in the most difficult of circumstances you decide to ‘Worship Anyway,’ you are saying like Job said, “No matter what my Lord, I will serve you.” No doubt God allows certain events to take place in our lives that really cause us to say, “God Why?” I’ve learned in those times to “Worship Anyway.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I’m committed to “Worship YOU Anyway,” no matter what. It has never helped me to ask, “God Why?” I know that eventually, as I trust you, you will turn things around for my good! Amen
