Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Galatians 5:18
But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

O-bservation:

St Paul made a definitive statement when it comes to being led by the Spirit. He said if you are led by the Spirit, you will not be under or ruled by the law. What does that mean? Those who are led by the Spirit are wanting God to lead them. They have been transformed by the grace of God and want nothing more to do with forced religion. The law is based on rules. God’s grace is based on the relationship with Jesus.

A-pplication:

This may be a reach, but when I was a boy, there were some things I wanted to do that my father didn’t want me to do. I must tell you at east three quarters of the time I didn’t think his directive made sense. But I loved my father so much, I didn’t want to hurt him. It wasn’t like I was buying into his rule, No! I was buying into our relationship. I loved my dad so much that I didn’t want my actions to hurt him or make him look bad in any way. After all, I bore his name. When Paul said, “If you are led of the Spirit, you are not under the law,” that usually illicit’s a, “Why?” The answer is, “I’m led of the Spirit and I’m no longer under the law because I am in a loving relationship with my Heavenly Father, and I bear his name. It’s my pleasure to do his will.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I am fully committed to you today, and it is my great privilege to serve you and be led by the Spirit, and do your will. Whatever you need, I’m with you! Amen
