Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Titus 1:6
An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.
O-bservation:
An Elder is promoted by the Apostle Paul as a man who is revered in the church. He is a model of Christian holiness and discipline. He is to be pure and faithful to his wife and a man who has his children in love with Jesus.
A-pplication:
Men are under attack as never before in modern times. Our society is riddled with absentee fathers, men out of work and ridiculed as the reason for so many problems in society. In some countries, men have reverted to war and the constant talk of hatred in order to reestablish their manhood. Here, Paul says reestablishing manhood should happen in the church. Men should be led to be men of honor who are looked up to because they serve Jesus and their community well. When a man raises children who are known for their love for the Lord and their personal discipline, that’s all a man will ever need to be honored in this life. Elders are needed in the church now more than ever. Which leads to this question: “Who’s Your Elder?”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I ask this AM for more Elders. Young men and boys need them. Women and young ladies need godly men who can be looked up to and revered as a model. Please give us more Elders. Amen
