Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

2 Timothy 1:6

For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

O-bservation:

As a young man, Timothy had experienced the Apostle Paul laying his hands upon him so he could be endowed with a spiritual gift. Paul now said it was time to fan that gift into a burning flame of power.

A-pplication:

Whether or not a spiritual leader ever laid their hands on you so you could receive a spiritual gift, you are indeed gifted by God. Some gifts lie dormant in people’s lives their entire lives. That is not what you and I will be guilty of. Just as Paul commanded Timothy to fan the gift of God into a burning flame, so also we are called to do the same. You may be asking how do I do that? The answer has mostly to do with service. Serving others, whether it’s in your local church or in your community in some way, fans the flame. Asking the Lord to help us fan the flame and to provide opportunities to use the gift is imperative. But the BIG question is, do you want the gift of God that is in you to operate in a powerful way? If your answer is yes, then, “Fire It Up!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m not as young as when You first called me; however, I’m ready to fan the flame. I want Your gifting working in me more than ever! Amen
