Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Philemon 1:4
I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers.
O-bservation:
Paul, the Great Apostle, was needing a favor from his friend Philemon. Before he asked his friend for the favor, he let him know that whenever he prayed to God, he would always thank the Lord for him.
A-pplication:
To my closest friends I often sign off with the line, “Always On Your Side.” I believe that’s what Paul was saying here. He needed a favor from his friend Philemon, but whether or not he could provide Paul with that favor Paul started by saying, I always thank God for you when I pray. I wonder how much more we could accomplish if all of our friends knew that we were … “Always On Their Side?” This age in which we’re living features one broken friendship and relationship after another. It’s true that success leaves tracks, but so does hypocrisy. Think of your friends today. When we pray let’s decide to always give thanks for them. It lets them know that I’m “Always On Your Side.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I can honestly say this AM that there has never been a day in my life that I felt rejected by You. In fact, I’ve had a continual feeling that You were “Always On My Side.” Amen
