S-cripture:

Acts 14:11

When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!”

O-bservation:

While in a place called Lystra, Paul healed a crippled man and prayed that Jesus would make him walk again. The man jumped to his feet and began to walk. Immediately the people observing this miracle believed Paul and Barnabas to be Greek gods.

A-pplication:

What if today or tomorrow, you as a follower of Jesus, are used by the Lord to make some impossibility happen for the good? Better yet, what should you do “When They Think You May Be A god” after working a miracle through the power of the one true God in the midst of these people? Here’s what Paul did. He and his ministry partner Barnabas tore their clothes and screamed, “No, please, don’t do this. We are only people like you. We are bringing you good news about Jesus Christ.” In other words, “When They Think You May Be A god,” immediately humble yourself and let them know that you are a person like they are, but they need the Jesus who just worked the miracle they witnessed. Always point people to Jesus, no matter what else you may want to do.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank you that I have life because of all You’ve done for me. Should the ministry You’ve trusted me with ever elicit praise from others, I promise You that I will be quick to point all the praise and accolades that may come my way back to You. Amen
