S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Acts 18:10
For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you because I have many people in this city.
O-bservation:
Paul had parked his missionary crusade in Corinth. One night while he was asleep, the Lord spoke to him in a vision and told him, “Don’t be afraid because I am with you, Paul. Keep right on preaching, no one is going to harm you, because I have many people in this city.” Paul stayed for quite a while in Corinth, working the new church he had founded. God protected him just like he said he would.
A-pplication:
When I read this story, the line that always gets me is, “I have many people in this city.” The truth is, “There’s Always More Than You Think There Are.” That’s how God works. Remember when Elijah was wanting his life to end because he thought he was the only man of God left on the planet? God said, “I have seven thousand folks who have not bowed their knees to Baal.” Remember when Elisha’s servant was sure they would be killed by the enemy? Elisha said, “Oh Lord open his eyes that he may see.” God did, and the hills were filled with men on horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha. These are just a few examples of what God will do for us when the enemy comes in like a flood because, “There’s Always More Than You Think There Are.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I totally believe you. I just want you, when I’m being really attacked by the enemy, to occasionally open my eyes. But even if you don’t, I already know you always have more than I think you do. Amen
