Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

2 Timothy 3:12
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

O-bservation:

St Paul, in speaking to his young devotee Timothy, said that if you’re truly going to be a disciple of Jesus, in time, you will go through some kind of persecution. As one grows physically and emotionally, they must be ready for some kind of persecution or struggle. The reason I say this is for the same reason that a boxer fights his way to a championship. He must be tested before he can be elevated. It’s “The Test Brings The Promotion,” an idea that has caused men and women everywhere down through the ages to risk everything for the ultimate prize on earth, but in this case, the ultimate prize of eternal life in heaven and to rule and reign with Christ one day.

A-pplication:

No serious thinker can possibly believe that a person can be promoted for absolutely no reason at all. That just doesn’t happen unless you’re the heir to someone’s billion-dollar fortune. NO! It just doesn’t happen. It’s “The Test That Brings Promotion,” always. So here, Paul lets Timothy and all of us know that anyone who wants to live a Godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. We will be tested. Persecution means different things to different people. But I can tell you this, throughout my life, I have watched people be tested in the place that they don’t want to be tested. And when they pass that test, they are elevated. That’s the way God planned it. It’s “The Test That Brings Promotion.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I want you to lead me in ways that will help me elevate. Of course, I’d like an easy life, but more than anything, I want your will in my life. Lead me, Lord to your abundant life, I pray. Amen
