Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

2 Timothy 4:7

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

O-bservation:

Shortly before St Paul died, he wrote these words to young Timothy, his disciple. Here was a man who had at one time persecuted Christians but had been so changed by Jesus that he would soon be martyred for his faith in Christ. In this letter to Timothy, Paul had instructed him as to what he should be aware of moving forward and how his purpose could be accomplished, and then he finished by saying what he knew now for sure. He knew that he had fought a good fight. He knew that he had finished the race. And most of all, St Paul knew that he had never wavered in his FAITH.

A-pplication:

Whenever I read this passage, I just pray that the Lord would help me say the same thing in time. Recently I heard my own son say, “I’m no longer interested in building a big church or having an international great work. I’m not interested in having my name in lights of any kind and neither am I interested in hanging out with the famous. All I’m interested in when it comes to my Christian faith is “LASTING,” till my time is finished.” I don’t think I could have said it better. We are now living in a day when people wait to hear you say something out of context so that they can spread the news to their followers in hopes that you would be canceled of any influence you ever had for the Lord. My friend, this AM, you must hold on while you are pressing forward. In fact, you must hold on with all your might as you press forward with all your might. If Jesus is your everything, then give him everything you have and don’t stop, even though your greatest joy will be in “LASTING.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I have been so blessed by you for the entirety of my life. Yes, there have been failures on my part and battles and losses and victories and joys and sorrows, but with all of my heart, my goal now is to finish strong. Please, Lord, help me “LAST!” Ame
