Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Proverbs 21:5
The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.
O-bservation:
These words by the wise man are encouraging for those who “Take Time To Plan.” It’s in the planning of one’s life and present opportunities that bring about profit and financial advancement. However, when an individual does not “Take Time To Plan,” sudden decisions are made without thought, and this brings about a greater potential for poverty to rule.
A-pplication:
How often have you heard someone say, “Have I got a deal for you?” At this stage of life, I almost shudder when I hear that line. Yet, God’s way of winning financially is in long-range planning and goal setting. I know that sounds boring to some, but from where I stand at this present place in life, I can tell you that age comes on you before you know it. I have many friends who have arrived at retirement, and there’s not much in the bank to lean on. What has happened? Most of what has happened took place without a plan in mind. Quick decisions made financial losing a way of life. If haste has been your way of approaching finances, why not sit down today and ask the Lord to help you, “Take Time To Plan.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I’m grateful for long-term planning. I’m happy that even that part of life is mentioned by the wise man in the Bible. It helps me know that you care about every part of our lives, and because of it, we have hope for the future. Amen
