Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Proverbs 24:16
For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.
O-bservation:
One of the great qualities of life that righteous living brings is humility. When a person is humble they are also quick to take credit for their own failures. Those who live life on their own terms and demand things be done their way without thought of letting Jesus in on their decision making, are the very ones who blame their failure on others. Instead of taking ownership for their mistakes they push it off on someone else and refuse to take the blame.
A-pplication:
When things that go sideways are never one’s fault, it becomes increasingly difficult to recover from loss of any kind. People become weary of blame projectors. On the other hand the man or woman who place their trust in the Lord are the very people who admit it, when they are wrong. When a person is humble, others are quick to help them. It’s always easier to get up from a tough failure if you’ve got friends to help you. Arrogance in time, drives help away from you. Humbleness, attracts others to you. To the humble in heart God says today, “Just Keep Getting Up!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Thank you today for giving me wonderful parents and loving mentors who taught me to take responsibility for my mistakes. Because of it, friends have always helped me get back up on my feet after failure. I can always thank you for encouraging me to, “Just Keep Getting Up!” Amen
