Psalm 118:25

Lord, save us! Lord, grant us success!

O-bservation:

Just this one time let’s not look at the context this plea was written from. Just take it at face value. It was a prayer from David’s heart for salvation and success.

A-pplication:

It’s difficult for me to describe the many times I’ve heard “Believers” complain that preaching or teaching on success is not the will of God, and that somehow it’s self serving. But I can tell you I have prayed this prayer of David during my lifetime more than I can count. Because most certainly all of us have asked God to get us out of trouble more than once. AND … all of us have asked God more than once that we’d win and not lose in the particular venture we were engaged in. Simply said, that adds up to all of us praying for salvation and success. Why? Because “Success Is Not A Sin!”

Dear Jesus,

I need, like King David this AM, Your Salvation and Success! Amen
