S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
1 Corinthians 16:18
For they refreshed my spirit and yours also. Such men deserve recognition.
O-bservation:
As St. Paul was closing his first letter to the young church at Corinth, he referenced three unknown men in the previous verse. He told the young church that these men had filled in the gaps of what Paul was lacking to move forward. After he said it, he said, “Because of what they did, they refreshed my spirit and yours also. Such men deserve recognition.”
A-pplication:
I’m pretty sure the three men Paul was speaking of had no intention of having their names remembered in the annals of history—over the past two thousand and something years! The truth is, they just wanted to bless the man of God named Paul. And look what happened. They got their names written in the Bible! I must tell you that in my life, I have been carried by people who, most likely, you have never met. However, they have blessed me to keep on going. They didn’t do it for recognition, only that they could be a blessing to a man of God. If I could tell you anything this AM, it would simply be, “Strive To Be A Blessing.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I know I’m preaching to me this AM. More than anything, I want to bless Your people along the way. Even though I may not have what the next person has to offer, I know I can pray and serve those who need the gaps filled in for them. I’ll do my best with Your help. Amen
