Sometimes We Just Don’t Deserve It!

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

John 4:38

I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor.

O-bservation:

Jesus was teaching His disciples how the work of the ministry and life in general works. He said “I’m sending you to reap where you have not worked. Other people have done the hard work and you will reap the benefits of what they’ve done.”

A-pplication:

I have taught my own sons through the years to stay Faithful to Jesus. Their great-grandfather Wilkerson had very little of this world’s goods. He was the father of ten children and was a traveling evangelist. He was the first in his family to accept Christ. ALL of his ten children became followers of Jesus. Each of them has served the Lord with gladness and has lived a very fruitful and prosperous life in comparison to their father. My mom and dad didn’t have a lot, but my siblings and I had all we needed to be successful because dad and mom remained faithful. As a family, we have talked about the fact that each generation has increased the previous generation’s work and prosperity ten times. Now my sons are also with their families experiencing this same remarkable fact. They will all surpass their parents by a LOT! How does this happen? This verse is how it happens. When we remain faithful, we end up reaping the benefits of our family’s generational sowing. I love how God’s plan works. It’s true! “Sometimes We Just Don’t Deserve It!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You for helping me see this verse through to our family’s fourth generation. You are amazing my Lord. Amen
