Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

O-bservation:

Saint John gives us perhaps the greatest verse in all the Bible. At least I can tell you that it was for me as a boy growing up. It was the first Bible verse I learned, and it has been, in a loving way, drilled into my heart and mind ever since. No matter how deep I go into the study of the Word, either in my professional education or personal study, this verse is my anchor. And the beauty of John 3:16 is, “It Really Happened!”

A-pplication:

The scoffers worldwide have forever mocked the fact that God had a Son. Yet all of the Old Testament prophecies that Jesus would come were fulfilled in Him. The prophecies fulfilled and the amazing life lived on earth and teachings, and sacrificial death, and miraculous resurrection from the grave were all part of God’s love plan for you and me. But now, today, it’s not just an old tale of what happened over two thousand years ago. It continues to happen even as I write. I’ve witnessed this very week undeniable miracles at the hand of Jesus. You can believe it or not, but I’m telling you, “It Really Happened!” It happened back then, and it continues to happen now.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

Thank You this AM that I’m praying to an alive God in heaven who is as real as the hand that is writing these words. As hard to believe as it is for some people, I’ve grown to know You through simple faith in Your word. By believing I’ve experienced all the fullness of Your Word. I love You, my Lord! Amen
