Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 107:9
For he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
O-bservation:
The Psalmist looks back over his life and the lives of his comrades and says that the Lord has met every need they’ve ever had. Whether it was a drink of fresh water or a belly craving food, he said the Lord has satisfied their thirst and given them good things to eat. So it causes us who really know the Lord to say, “Whatever You Need, He’s Got It!”
A-pplication:
When I think about the Lord, I think about all the help He’s given me whenever I‘ve had a need. I needed a loving home, and He had that for me. I needed faith, and He had that for me. I needed an education, and He provided one for me. I needed a job, and He has given me jobs. I needed a wife, and He supplied the best wife a man could ask for. I needed children, and Jesus gave me four sons. I needed encouragement, and He’s been my counselor and my encourager. I needed healing, and time and time again, He’s healed me. I needed forgiveness, and He’s forgiven me over and over. I needed a friend, and He is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. You know, friend, I could keep telling you about all the things I continue to need, but you’d get tired of listening. The truth is, “Whatever You Need, He’s Got It!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I’m thinking of that chorus our church used to sing when I was a small boy. “He’s All I Need.” Oh, I know Christians have been criticized for singing that song for years, and many theologians disagree with it and say we need more than You. But I can tell You this: You’re all I need! Because whatever I need, You’ve got it! Amen
