Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Galatians 6:1
Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.
O-bservation:
As St. Paul began to close out his letter to the church at Galatia, he was concerned for those believers who would be found to be involved in a sin of some description. Paul said those who live by the Spirit should “Restore Them.” And he said to do it gently but be careful in case the RESTORER should get caught up in the same temptation.
A-pplication:
I love this scripture. How many times have you watched some who call themselves Followers of Christ seem happy when a brother or sister falls? But that’s not the true Christian response. Ever! The Apostle tells us that when a brother or sister sins, it’s our place to gently help “Restore Them” back to spiritual health and life in Jesus. We don’t do this lightly, as if to say it was no big deal! Instead, we acknowledge the wrong but are quick to acknowledge the grace of our Lord to “Restore Them,” and everyone who has fallen, back to life and health in Jesus. Our chief goal as brothers and sisters is to love, accept, and forgive a fallen brother or sister and “Restore Them!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
More than anything today, I’m asking that You would help me be a RESTORER for those who have temporarily lost their way! Help me, Lord, to “Restore Them.” Amen
