Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Galatians 5:1

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

O-bservation:

The church at Galatia, which Paul founded, had struggled mightily with going back to its old ways of religious law. They had been set free from all bondages by the Lord, but instead of growing in their faith, they were turning back to old religious practices. The Apostle told them, “True Freedom Is Right Here! Right Now!”

A-pplication:

As I write, the entire planet has its eyes on the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Here is a smaller nation (Ukraine) in comparison to Russia that is defending its freedom to its last man and woman, it appears. Why? Because in 1922, the Ukrainian government became part of the new Soviet Union. They fought for freedom but never found it. On Christmas Day 1991, the flag of the Soviet Union flew for the last time over Moscow. Since that time, Ukraine has been relatively free. The Russian Army is trying to bring them back under their rigid thumb. Whatever happens to this nation’s cry for freedom, true freedom only comes through Jesus Christ. All the historical Russian despots are now in the grave, save for their present leader. But hallelujah! Jesus is alive. That’s why, today, I can safely say, “True Freedom Is Right Here, Right Now!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I know that people worldwide are hungry for political freedom. But once they think they find it, the soul will still cry for freedom. Help me and my friend who reads this post today to remember the freedom our soul cries for is only found in You. Amen
