S-cripture:

1 Thessalonians 2:20

Indeed, you are our glory and joy.

O-bservation:

St. Paul had struggled to get back to see the church he planted in Thessalonica. He told them that the people in Thessalonica truly were his glory and joy amidst the suffering he faced. Paul had a tent building business that he owned and operated that took care of his financial needs. However, he seldom mentioned his own needs, and it appears he couldn’t have cared less about earthly stuff. What he continually lets us know in his writings is that “People Are Our Heart.”

A-pplication:

For the believer, there is little else that matters than the mission to introduce people to Jesus. And that’s no small thing. It’s a matter of life and death for those of us who truly believe there is a heaven to gain and a hell to shun. Yet far too many seem hung up on the cares of this life and something else they’d like to buy if they get a chance to find relief on their credit cards that are already charged to the limit. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to see the signs of the times unfolding to evangelize this earth for the Lord. That can only happen when all of us who call ourselves Followers of Jesus lay aside our earthly desires and decide that “People Are Our Heart.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I’m grateful that You found me when I was lost. Because of that, I’ve had a glorious life of finding other lost sheep of Yours who were not of Your fold but now are. Help me reach even more as Your soon coming draws near. Amen
