Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
The Lord used a prophet to bring Israel up from Egypt, by a prophet he cared for him.
Here the prophet Hosea reminds the people of Israel how the Lord gave them the prophet “MOSES,” who kept his people Israel and also led them like a Sheperd leads his sheep. Not only did he lead them out of the bondage of Egypt, but he also led them across the Red Sea and kept them in the desert while they wandered for forty years. He led them and kept them through sickness and disease and wars and droughts and pestilence through those years. So while the people of Israel had called the prophets of the Lord fools in Hosea’s day, God argued that the greatest leader in Israel’s history was the prophet, “MOSES!”
Sometimes what we are seeing from our vantage point is what we would see to be a fool. But what God sees in our so-called fool, is a great leader. Could it be that what we are seeing is so completely opposite from what God is seeing, because of our own sin? We see a fool, God sees “MOSES.” Here was an old man who had failed God miserably and was now tending sheep for his father-in-law, for forty years! It was at the ripe old age of eighty that God called “MOSES,” to lead his people Israel out of bondage, and he did. But now, many years had passed since God’s great leader, “MOSES,” had passed on to heaven, and Israel was in trouble again. They could not recognize the true prophet among them. Today we are in such a mess that it is time for us to get our eyes off of man’s leaders and onto the “MOSES,” that could be among us. God has a prophet, not an anti-Christ I believe, that will help lead us to one more revival before his coming.
As I’ve read this passage this AM I’m believing for a “MOSES” among us who will stand up and say, “This is the way walk in it!” Lord, we need new prophets like never before to Sheperd your people worldwide. Help us, I pray. Amen
