Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Genesis 43:30
Deeply moved at the sight of his brother, Joseph hurried out and looked for a place to weep. He went into his private room and wept there.
O-bservation:
By that point in time, Joseph was running the entire BUSINESS of Egypt. Let’s face it. If there’s no food, there is no enterprise. Joseph knew every move of the businesses in need throughout Egypt. But when his brothers showed up in Egypt needing food, Joseph began to break. Why? Because sometimes life is about “More Than Business.” Joseph was about to reunite with his whole family, but it would be on his terms, and the emotion got to him.
A-pplication:
Every day we need to pray for Christian businesses, and all businesses for that matter. Company helps fuel a city. Business creates jobs for folks, and that in turn helps them raise families, which encourages legacy building. However, there are times when we come up against something bigger than business and bigger than us. When trouble comes on a family. When the job runs out. When accidents happen. When an injury occurs. When hearts are broken. All of these are examples of happenings that are “More Than Business.” Why am I talking about this? Joseph saved a nation and his whole family because of God’s wisdom and anointing on his life. Many would say he was an astute businessman. However, when it came to potentially getting his whole family back together for a moment, none of what he had been through or had accomplished meant anything to him. He wanted his family back. What about you today? Please remember certain things are much “More Than Business.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m so grateful as I start this new day that you have helped me experience success and victory more than I ever dreamed possible. But years ago, I learned that there is so much I value far “More Than Business.” Help me keep my eyes on you and my values intact. Amen
