S-cripture:

John 12:43

For they loved human praise more than praise from God.

O-bservation:

There came a point in Jesus’ ministry that it was unsafe for Him to travel freely. Even so, there were people who believed in Him yet were afraid to publicly proclaim Christ because they were guilty of “Loving The Wrong Praise.”

A-pplication:

The scripture says, “They loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.” Seriously, who are you living for and playing to? I’ve asked this same type of question in so many ways these past several years of SOAP devos. I continue to ask this question because if you and I are playing for the approval or the applause of people, we’re already losing ground. But … if you’re playing to an audience of just ONE, Jesus, the sky is your limit. When we are thankful for Jesus, He in turn opens doors of opportunity that would have never come to us before. “Why would He do that?” you may be asking. The truth is … Jesus knows when we’re “Loving The Wrong Praise.”

Dear Jesus,

Help me love the Praise that only comes from You! Amen
