Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
“Break up your unplowed ground and do not sow among thorns.”
The Lord let Judah know what it would take to come back after years of rebellion. God said, “Break up the hard places in your hearts (unplowed ground) and stop planting Good Stuff in the middle of Bad Stuff.” In other words, “Start Over.”
The story involving the people of God (Judah) returning from their evil ways in that day never happened. Instead they carried on until destruction came upon them. In our own lives it’s important that we keep breaking up the unplowed (hardened) ground in our lives. This metaphor is speaking of our hearts. There’s always a temptation to go through the motions of a “Jesus Person” with no real humility. In time, the heart of us can become hardened. Whatever it takes for you or me to break up the unplowed places of our heart, we must do it! Even if we have to “Start Over!”
This AM I’m asking you to show me the hard places in my heart. I’m ready to start over. I want YOU! Amen
