S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 26:3
For I have always been mindful of your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.
O-bservation:
This is such a wonderful statement by King David to his Maker because of the many affirmations he makes. He says things like, “Lord, I Totally Rely On You. I love being in your house so I can experience the glory of God. I don’t want to hang out with deceitful folks at all. Wherever I stand, you make me stand on level ground. I’ll always praise your name.”
A-pplication:
How are you feeling this AM? Did you have a bad day yesterday? Were you perhaps counting on something happening that didn’t happen? Or maybe you depended on yourself and your own ability more than you should have? I wouldn’t know. I’m just asking because I often wake up feeling like a failure. When I stop and get a grip on my feelings, it’s usually a result of me not feeling like I did a good job yesterday and was relying too much on me to get the job done. That never works. Once I get my eyes back on my Maker, King Jesus, I realize that my hope is in Him. When that happens, the anxiety leaves me, and I’m able to look to heaven like King David did and say, “Lord, I Totally Rely On You.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I will start right by saying all of my hopes and dreams and aspirations are on and in You. I have no other way of being productive in any way but by You. In fact, “Lord, I Totally Rely On You” again today. Amen
