Live Dead

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

John 20:21
Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the father has sent me, I am sending you.”

O-bservation:

These were the words that Jesus spoke when he entered the room where his disciples had gathered for fear of the Jews. This was after the resurrection. He said several things to them, but this line stands out. He wanted his disciples and you and me to know that the same way his father had sent him into the world, he was sending us into the world. Of course, he was sent here to present the New Testament or Covenant built on God’s grace. But also, he was sent here to die once and for all for the sins of mankind. He was called to “Live Dead.”

A-pplication:

Jesus knew he was coming to die. But in saying to you and me that we are sent to this place called earth in the same way that he was sent to earth is probably saying, be prepared for anything. He knew he was to live as though he was dead, knowing his purpose was to die and rise again from the dead. Yet he wants you and me to live as though we may have to give the ultimate sacrifice! But either way, we will live our Christian faith out until we die, and that’s what it means to live, ready for anything. Everyone that Jesus has ever redeemed from sin, he has always redeemed them in order to send them back to where they came from, changed by the power of God and with a testimony. Are you ready to “Live Dead?”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I’m ready for anything! I thank you that you have sent me into my world the same way your Heavenly Father sent you into this world. You are always ready to “Live Dead.” Help me live the way you lived. Amen
