Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Mark 9:40
For whoever is not against us is for us.

O-bservation:

These were Jesus’ words to John and the rest of his disciples after John had said to Jesus that they had seen a person casting out demons in Jesus’ name but that he wasn’t one of Jesus’ immediate disciples. Jesus said, “If he isn’t against us, he’s for us..” in my humble opinion, I believe Jesus was really saying, “Let’s Stick Together.”

A-pplication:

I’ve been privileged to live an extended life on this great planet. I’ve witnessed Christians in many parts of the world that I’ve traveled to and, obviously, this country in which I live. It’s my opinion that we spend more time as believers haggling over things we disagree on, more than we do rejoicing over the issues we can rally around. Here was a man in this passage who was doing the work of the ministry in the name of our Lord, but Jesus’ disciples were concerned that he was not one of them. The gospel was never given to an exclusive few, but rather it was given to spread organically around the world. Remember, this is the “Good News!” So our goal as “Followers Of Jesus” is, first of all, to spread the “Good News!” After that, “Let’s Stick Together!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I commit once again that if a person claims to be your follower, I will bless them and open my arms to embrace them. More than anything, I will promise to “Stick Together,” for the gospel’s sake. Amen
