Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Nahum 1:7
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.

O-bservation:

This is a prophecy against the people of Nineveh who about 100 years earlier had answered the preaching of Jonah by falling on their faces before the Lord in humble repentance. This was also true of the King of Nineveh at that time. Yet Jonah the prophet abandoned his own revival for a place of bitterness against the Lord for having saved Nineveh. This is one reason that the revival in Nineveh didn’t go anywhere but died. And now, a hundred years later, they were worse than ever.

A-pplication:

In this passage, the word of the Lord through Nahum says that “Jesus Cares For Those Who Trust In Him.” In other words, it was God’s promise to the people of Judah that even with the impending devastation that was coming, “I will preserve and protect you in the midst of certain destruction.” Who is your trust lying in this AM? Have you trusted in people, places, and things, or has your trust, and is your trust, in the Lord? I’m asking that because it was David who said, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” ( Ps. 20:7 ). I can tell you with unyielding certainty this AM that “Jesus Cares For Those Who Trust In Him!” I’m living proof!

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I want to reaffirm my wholehearted trust in you. There have been other potential suitors for my trust and obedience, but all of them were sent from Satan himself. I will not insult you, my God, with unbelief! I’m all yours! Amen
