S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Galatians 1:11
I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin.
O-bservation:
The Apostle Paul, writing to the young church at Galatia, reminded the church and all of us today that the gospel he had preached he did not receive from humans. Paul’s gospel had been given to him by Christ himself. He went on to talk about people who preach something other than the word of Christ. When they claim to be speaking the word of God, they are liars and hypocrites.
A-pplication:
Through the years, I’ve always asked myself, “Is It From God Or Is It From Man?” concerning what I believe. I’ve heard people quote historic lines like, “God helps those who help themselves.” And maybe some of them sound authentic, but they are not found in Scripture. Yet some people build their lives around religious sayings or personal beliefs that are not biblical. Paul wanted the people to know that the gospel he preached came directly from the Jesus he served. Today, my life is hopefully built on God’s word. If you ever doubt, ask yourself, “Is It From God Or Is It From Man?” and then run to God’s Word and find out.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I don’t want my life to be based on man’s quotes and religious sayings. I want my life to be founded on Your Holy Word. Help me stay focused on Your Word. Amen
