S-cripture:
Psalm 3:3
But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
O-bservation:
In this Psalm, David was aware of the many enemies he had encamped around him. He said in this one verse that his God was always the one who would be his protector and the one who always lifted his head up, in the midst of trouble.
A-pplication:
You can usually tell if a person is moving forward in victory or being buried by defeat based upon the location of their head. Oftentimes I will see a person who is moping around with their head sagging towards the ground. Immediately I know that life has got them down! On the other hand, when I observe an individual with a spring in their step and their head lifted high, it makes me feel as though he or she is walking in faith that something good is just around the corner. With God’s help I want to be the second person because, “He Lifts My Head Up!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
With your help today I will not walk in unbelief with my head down. NO! You are the one who lifts my head up in all circumstances. Thank You! Amen
