Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 139:1
You have searched me, Lord, and you know me.
O-bservation:
King David only had subjects in his kingdom. He bowed to no one other than God Almighty. He was so amazed at his Heavenly Father that he continually praised and worshipped him with words that many of us seldom think of. In this passage, he brings it down to our level of understanding and says, “You Know Me.”
A-pplication:
When I was 14 years old, living in the beautiful state of Wisconsin, I got a summer job at a gas station which somehow I was able to hold onto through high school graduation. One of the things that was required of me was to go to the social security office and get my number. As I approach my seventh decade of life, I still have that number. That’s what I am to the authorities over me in the United States of America. I’m a number. Anything they need to know about me, they only have to pull up my number, and there it is. The same is true with my credit history and score. In other words, few people really know me. My wife knows me the best, but even she doesn’t completely know me. Even my kids don’t know all about me. I suppose the reason I am thoroughly committed to Jesus Christ is, “He Knows Me!” He know you too!
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
Before I ask you for anything, you already know what I have need of and what I will ask. Before I ask for forgiveness, you already know what I’ve done and what I need to repent of. There is nothing I can ever do or think that you don’t already know about. I love you because “You Know Me!” Amen
