Do You Need Your Heart Touched?

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

1 Samuel 10:26

Saul also went to his home in Gibeah, accompanied by valiant men whose hearts God had touched.

O-bservation:

This is the story of Israel no longer wanting the Lord to lead them through a prophet, but instead, they wanted a king. God told Samuel to go and find a young warrior named Saul. He did, and when he found him, Samuel anointed Saul as king over Israel. It was a joyous occasion, and on his return home to Gibeah, he took with him a number of valiant men whose hearts had been touched by God.

A-pplication:

Certainly, this story is not about medical intervention on the part of God for the restoration of the physical heart. NO! This passage is speaking of the fact that just like Saul’s heart had been changed by this event, so too were the hearts of the valiant men who surrounded him. Which causes me to ask the question today, “Do You Need Your Heart Touched?” In other words, are you in need of spiritual renewal? I know there have been times when I have loved the Lord, but I was kind of just going through the motions, so to speak. It was in those times I’ve asked the Lord to touch my heart. Renew me, Lord. I need my heart touched. God has always touched me in a new way. If you need your heart touched by Jesus today, just ask him.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I have not always been as close to you as I would have liked, but still, you never left me. I’m asking this AM for a touch from you upon my heart. Draw me closer to you today than I’ve ever been. Amen
