Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Micah 3:8
But as for me, I am filled with power, with the Spirit of the Lord, and with justice and might, to declare to Jacob his transgression, to Israel his sin.
O-bservation:
Here the prophet Micah had just finished railing against prophets from Israel and Judah who were in the ministry for their own personal gain. He then said, “But As For Me, I Am Filled With Power.” Of course, he gave the glory to the Lord for giving him the power to proclaim the sins of Judah and Israel to their very faces.
A-pplication:
Years ago, there was a huge billboard across my country promoting a certain oil filter. This was WAY before electric cars. The line that was on the billboard next to a picture of the oil filter said, “A Clean Engine Delivers The Power!” I think that’s what Micah, the prophet, was saying here. These other prophets had gotten off track and were now unrighteous prophets trying to deliver their truth while full of sin themselves. It just wasn’t going well for them, and I’m sure the people could see their hypocrisy. Micah, on the other hand, was full of the Spirit of God. He was an Old Testament holiness preacher and prophet. When he prophesied anything to these fellow prophets, he had no concern for what he was saying because he knew he was practicing what he preached. Today I pray for you that, like Micah, you will be able to say, “But As For Me, I’m Am Filled With Power!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’ve learned when I’m living right; I’m sensing the presence and the power of YOU at all times. Please help me live that way, I pray. Amen
