Ungodliness

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Zechariah 5:11

He replied, “To the country of Babylonia to build a house for it. When the house is ready the basket will be set there in its place.”

O-bservation:

In another translation, instead of calling this a place of “Ungodliness,” Babylonia, it instead is called Shinar. This place was located in southern Babylon and is believed to be the place where the people rose up to build the Tower of Babel. It was there that God confused their languages so they could not fulfill their mission to build a tower into the heavens.

A-pplication:

Zechariah had been given a vision by God of a woman who was earlier called WICKEDNESS (v. 8). It signified that wickedness was being  given a permanent home to always fight against the purposes of God in the world. I must say that whether Zechariah’s vision actually meant that, it’s true that there has ALWAYS been a spirit of Ungodliness on the earth. It seems we who stand with Jesus must and will stand against this spirit until we are called home to heaven. Whenever you are inclined to ask, “Will this spirit of Ungodliness ever end?” Please know that it will end the day Jesus returns from heaven at the 2nd coming of Christ with His heavenly army to chain the enemy to hell! As followers of Jesus, we are committed to fighting Ungodliness as long as we live.

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m asking You this AM to give my friend who reads this post a double portion of power to fight this spirit of Ungodliness that is so prevalent on the earth. Together we must stand strong for you! Amen
