Those With Needs Who Live In Bondage

S. O. A. P.

Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 69:33

The Lord hears the needy and does not despise his captive people.

O-bservation:

King David was at one of the lowest places in his life. All through this Psalm, he bemoans his circumstances. His voice had become weary from calling out for God’s help. Yet, in this verse, David had found hope. He declared that God is always on the side of his people and especially “Those With Needs Who Live In Bondage.”

A-pplication:

I don’t know how to say this, but this Psalm is especially for you today. I can’t count the many times in my life when, like David, I have felt as though I was so NEEDY and living in BONDAGE. Yes, that’s right, you heard me say it. Me, a minister of the gospel! I can remember times where there wasn’t a good decision to be made because any decision would mean certain peril. In every situation, the Lord Almighty brought me out. Why? I think it’s because, as in the throes of despair as I was, He saw in me a deep love and desire for Him. I don’t boast in that, I have no other answer, and I speak the truth. Perhaps that’s the way you feel. Perhaps you’re in one of those times right now. Well, let me say this, you will be just fine because our God always leans in the direction of “Those With Needs Who Live In Bondage.”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I’m so very thankful this AM that You truly are my refuge. You know me. You know my failures and my weaknesses. Yet you remain a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Amen
