Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Isaiah 57:13c
But whoever takes refuge in me will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain.
O-bservation:
The prophet Isaiah speaks for God, and in the previous portions of verse 13, he condemns the Israelites who have turned their backs on the Lord during their captivity in Babylon. He tells them that their combined idols cannot rescue them from the slightest winds of adversity. But then he tells the people, “If you take your refuge in the Lord, you will inherit the land and possess God’s holy mountain.”
A-pplication:
Obviously, in context, this was a prophetic word for the people living in Isaiah’s day and a future generation experiencing the same turmoil. Yet today, we as a people who once were founded on godly principles have as a nation collectively turned to other gods that are by nature no gods at all. I believe that this promise for the remnant who had not turned their backs on God during Isaiah’s day is a promise for all of us in our day who refuse to bow a knee to any of the Baal gods being offered by the devil right now. It’s time that we stand firm with Jesus in an uncompromising way. There is no other true and wise God than our Savior, Jesus Christ the Lord. More than ever, it’s time to “Take Your Refuge In Jesus!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m ready to inherit the land You promised to those who refuse to bow a knee to all of the useless gods being promoted today. I will always bow to You and You alone. I’m blessed to serve You, the only true and wise God. Keep me in the palm of Your hand, I pray, and the center of Your divine will. Amen
