Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Acts 12:15
“You’re out of your mind,” they told her. When she kept insisting that it was so, they said, “It must be his angel.”
O-bservation:
Peter was imprisoned at the hands of Herod during the season of Passover in Jerusalem. Things looked bad for him, so John Mark’s mother called a prayer meeting at her house. While they were praying, an angel of the Lord went into Peter’s prison and led him out free. Peter immediately headed to John Mark’s house and knocked on the door. A young girl named Rhoda answered the door and recognized Peter and ran back to the prayer meeting and reported. The people who were praying said, “You’re out of your mind. He can’t be there he’s in prison. It must be his angel.” When Peter appeared before them, they were shocked!
A-pplication:
When we read this story today, most of us laugh. But when it happened back in their day, they weren’t laughing because they were earnestly praying prayers that no one in the room believed would be answered. When God answered their prayers and delivered Peter from prison to their front door, they were amazed. If you’ve ever prayed to God for a miracle but didn’t believe He would do it, I say, “Start Believing What You’re Praying For!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I’m praying because some areas in my life require some pretty desperate prayers. But I’m believing you will answer them because You’re my only hope! Amen
