S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Exodus 30:30
Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them so they may serve me as priests.
O-bservation:
This is one of the original passages in the Old Testament that foreshadows what would happen in the New Testament. In the Jewish system of synagogue worship and spiritual leadership, and in this case, Aaron and his sons were set apart and anointed by God through the eldership of Israel to lead the people of God spiritually. This is also seen in the New Testament Book of Acts in forming the New Testament Church. It proves a point that “Some Are Called Out To Lead God’s People.”
A-pplication:
In both the Old and New Testaments, God established spiritual “Systems” to designate certain individuals that HE set apart to lead His people on earth. Of course, we believe that God calls everyone to lead in some way. However, as it relates to spiritual leadership, God has a way of setting men and women apart from the rest. He has also placed certain people in positions to oversee the overseers. In other words, everyone is under some kind of spiritual authority. Our challenge is always to be the men and women God wants us to be. When the spiritual stewardship of a people becomes a place of “political power” instead of “spiritual service,” we as God’s “called out ones” become nothing more than the local city councilwoman. Please remember, “Some Are Called Out To Lead God’s People,” and our mission from God is to pray for them.
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I want to pause and give You thanks and praise for my spiritual leaders. Help me always be grateful for them and thankful to You for spiritual leaders who care for me. Amen
