Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 149:6
May the praise of God be in their mouths and a double-edged sword in their hands.
O-bservation:
King David was honest about the life of every believer. He said our mission is to praise the Lord with a song of praise in our mouths at all times and to keep fighting for what we believe. This was the Old Testament believer’s mission of “Singing And Fighting.”
A-pplication:
Yes, I know we live in a day and age where the mission of the people of God is not so “out there” as it was in David’s time. By that, I mean we live here in the United States (my country), which is historically known as a Christian nation. So the idea of carrying a sword or an AK-47 to work to fight for one’s faith is presently out of the question. Yet, there is a way of singing at work. In other words, there’s a way to maintain a happy and positive demeanor at work or university that is attractive while at the same time being willing to defend your faith verbally (fight for what you believe) and not give the devil an inch. I know no other way to live a victorious life of faith in Jesus but by “Singing And Fighting!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m so grateful this AM that I can still sing and fight for You, my Lord. I’m not much of a gunslinger, but I’m always ready to stand and witness for You no matter what the cost. I need Your help to stay happy and victorious with everyone I meet. Amen
