Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Psalm 81:10
“I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.”
O-bservation:
Egypt in this passage is both literal and figurative. Certainly God delivered Israel out of Egypt’s bondage. However, Egypt is also a metaphor for any kind of bondage you may be experiencing right now.
A-pplication:
For over 400 years Israel feasted on prison life. Once the Lord delivered them out of prison, they couldn’t seem to feast on the Lord’s provision. He begged them to open their mouth and He would fill it. Sometimes, if we’re not careful, we can get addicted to prison food. Israel kept going back to Egypt in one form or another for sustenance. It’s Jesus’ desire today to take you, once and for all, “Out Of EGYPT!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
I’m glad to be feasting on your abundant spiritual fare. It’s been so long since You took me “Out Of EGYPT” that I never, ever want to go back! Amen
