Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Obadiah 1:4

“Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down,” declares the Lord.

O-bservation:

The Prophet Obadiah was speaking as an oracle of God against the Edomites. They had filled themselves with PRIDE and had boasted, “Who can bring me down?” God responded to their arrogance and said, “I will bring you down!”

A-pplication:

Certainly God brought the people of Edom down. They were, in time, humbled. BUT … is it not true that the Lord had to respond to them for what they had become? They were operating with such disgusting arrogance that they were the reason for their own demise. How many times have you disciplined your child and actually felt bad for doing it, but their actions demanded that you as a loving parent had to respond? People can blame God all they want. Even you can blame the Lord, but the truth is “Only You Can Bring You Down!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

I ask this AM that you hold me and keep me safe. I don’t want to be the reason for my own demise! Amen
