Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Psalm 32:7

You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.

O-bservation:

This was King David’s declaration concerning the Lord God of Israel. He prayed to the Lord and said, you are “My Hiding Place.” He also talked about the fact that God will always protect him from oncoming enemy threats. Finally David said, “You will surround me with songs of deliverance.” What a picture is drawn with the words of our beloved King David.

A-pplication:

This is one of my favorite verses in all of the Bible. Seriously I can’t believe it’s taken me ten years to write a devotional on this wonderful promise. Songs have been written about this passage as well as a movie made with the same title. In my life, I ran to so many different places to hide when I was in trouble, but when I committed my life to Christ at the age of eighteen, it was over for me. No more running to unsure places. From that day forward, Jesus became “My Hiding Place!” Why? Because I found in Jesus a place to hide from all my trouble. Yet I also found my forever PROTECTOR! That’s right, I’ve been under continual attack in my life for following Jesus; however, he has always protected me from those who would try and take me down. And finally, I always hear a song of deliverance in my times of trouble. Did you hear what I said? I ALWAYS hear a song of DELIVERANCE in my darkest hour. I am the singer in the family, and I have a terrible voice but a great ear. When I hear that song in my head, I start to sing, and people start to cringe. But I don’t care because Jesus is “My Hiding Place!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus:

This morning I’m singing already! I can’t help myself because Jesus, you are “My Hiding Place!” You always have been and always will be. With all my heart I praise you this AM! Amen
