Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.
In this chapter of Revelation, Jesus “The Lamb” opened seven different seals, each representing a judgment to fall upon the earth. This fifth judgment was a result of the persecution the world, throughout history, has put on Christians who have been faithful to God’s Word and have answered the Lord’s call to “Maintain Your Faith.”
As a pastor of people, I have been in the process these many years of answering God’s call to “Maintain Your Faith.” It’s one thing to say, “Yes, I need my sins forgiven” at some point in life. It’s an entirely different thing to take up one’s cross daily and “Maintain Your Faith.” That means that with God’s help, I am committed to following God’s Word every step of the way. Once again, I’m following God’s Word not out of obligation but as a yielding to His plan for my life. I’ve learned that God’s way is best. Once a person makes that decision. It becomes natural for that person to desire to maintain their faith in Jesus, no matter the cost.
I am grateful that You have never left me. Since the day I yielded my life to You and said, “Yes, I will follow You,” You have always been there. Because You have kept Your word to me, I am joyful in maintaining my faith in You! Amen
