Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
These are their names: Caleb son of Jephunneh, from the tribe of Judah.
When Moses was nearing the end of his life, the Lord told him that as the people of Israel entered Canaan, they were to set boundaries for all of the tribes. This was to establish the region the Lord wanted the Israeli territory to extend to. He told Moses to name the following leaders of each tribe to assign the land to the people. The first name mentioned from the tribe of Judah was Caleb.
Caleb was there when the children of Israel escaped the grip of the Egyptians. Caleb was there two years into their journey in the wilderness when he joined eleven of his friends to go in and spy out the land of Canaan. He was there when ten of the twelve leaders of each tribe returned to give a negative report on the Promised Land. Only he and his friend Joshua insisted they could conquer the giants and take the land. Out of the original twelve spies, only he and Joshua would see the Promised Land and take it by force. He was there for the rest of the 38 years of wandering in the wilderness until they finally took the land over. Caleb’s story extended past this passage. Caleb had one purpose in mind for his entire life. No matter what, “Keep Going Strong!”
This AM, I’m asking for Your grace. Would You help me not just keep going? Would you help me to “Keep Going Strong!” Amen
