Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Hebrews 4:13
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
O-bservation:
The writer of Hebrews reminds us that there is absolutely nothing hidden from the eyes of God. Nothing at all. And one day, we will all stand before Him and give an account of our actions while here on earth.
A-pplication:
I’m always amazed to know certain people over a long period and know them as a person somewhat like myself. By that, I mean we’re not perfect, but we both desire to “Walk the Walk.” Then, after a number of years, a whole bizarre revelation comes out that they were living two lives and were trying to cover it up. Now they’re shamed, and no matter what they do, they’re remembered for the cover-up they were involved in. Yes, they can be forgiven and go to heaven. But not everyone forgets. I’m sure some who operate in such a fashion will be able to maintain the cover-up even until the end. However, this scripture says, “Then we’ll all have to face God, from whom NOTHING is HIDDEN!” If in the future THAT THING HAPPENS, “It’s Probably Best To Confess It And Move On.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
On this beautiful new day, I ask that you help me never think I can hide ANYTHING from you. Help me be quick to confess my failures and sins and stay away from the COVER UP! Amen
