Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Romans 6:18

You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

O-bservation:

This chapter in the book of Romans talks about being dead to sin and alive in Christ. Yet, the above passage takes it to an entirely new level. Because of the grace of God, we aren’t only free from being chained to sin’s shackles. We are now slaves to righteousness. It’s as if we are forever “YES PEOPLE” to the good things God has for us.

A-pplication:

Prior to my salvation and a total yielding of myself to Jesus, I truly was a slave to sin. You could almost say I was the devil’s gofer. Whatever he commanded, I said YES to. Sometimes I felt good at the moment for having broken my conscience. However, by morning, I was as guilty a sinner as there ever was. Feeling miserable, I’d try and paint myself into a better view of things. In other words, as a young man, I’d reframe my disobedience with thoughts that I’d done a good thing by breaking my conscience. Yet, try as I may, I could never seem to find release from my bad behavior. But one day, Jesus came in and took the reins of my life, which I gladly handed over to Him. Only by Jesus’ matchless grace am I able to confess that “I Am Now A Slave To Righteousness!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I am grateful that you took me from the chains of sin’s shackles years ago and made me a slave to righteousness. I have never been the same since. I’m blessed to be one of Your “YES MEN!” Amen
