Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
Leviticus 17:11
For the life of a creature is in the blood, and I have given it to you to make atonement for yourselves on the altar; it is the blood that makes atonement for one’s life.
O-bservation:
Here the writer was very specific in telling the people over three thousand years ago that the life of a creature is in the blood. That would include animals and birds and of course, humans. For a human being to be forgiven of their sin in the Old Testament, an animal, or bird, had to die, and its blood had to be offered on the altar as the atonement for one’s sin. Of course, Jesus, in time, became the atoning sacrifice for our sins. His shed blood on the cross cleared the way for all of us to be forgiven of sin and have eternal life. And if you’re wondering, “His Blood Still Has The Power.”
A-pplication:
Our present state of living has made things like faith in God irrelevant to many folks on planet earth. The idea that there is sin and that we are all sinners is foreign to most people. Yet, wherever this generation of humans has evolved to, in their minds, it does not change the fact that every person is a sinner and every sinner needs a savior. That savior must have what it takes to atone for the sins of people. Only Jesus has the proper credentials for this massive task. Because of his atoning sacrifice on Calvary, we all have hope. It goes like this; I am a sinner. I need a savior. Jesus has shed his blood to atone for my sins. I choose Jesus because “His Blood Still Has The Power!”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I gratefully say that your blood has been the difference between life and death for me. I’ve never been afraid since the day I completely surrendered my life to you, and your blood covered my sins. Amen
