Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!

S-cripture:

Esther 8:15
15 When Mordecai left the king’s presence, he was wearing royal garments of blue and white, a large crown of gold, and a purple robe of fine linen. And the city of Susa held a joyous celebration.

O-bservation:

This is the story of how in, one day, Mordecai, the Jewish uncle of Queen Esther living in Persia, went from the brink of being executed to being the second in command of all of Persia next to King Xerxes. That’s right! As I was stated in a previous post, the wicked Haman, who had held the same position prior to Mordecai’s elevation, had an edict signed by the king to eradicate all Jews from the land and have Mordecai impaled on gallows he (Haman) had erected. But when Queen Esther pleaded the case for her uncle and her Jewish people, God intervened. King Xerxes had Haman impaled on the gallows and gave his estate to Esther. He also made Mordecai second in command over all of Persia as a Jew. In just one day, Mordecai went “From Common Man To Royal Man!”

A-pplication:

I could have called this devotional, “Just One Day, Is All It Took!” Or I could have called it, “When Your Tables Get Turned For Your Good!” It’s just an amazing story. The reason why I believe it to be so amazing is that it’s the story of Jewish and Christian believers down through the years. Those continual stories go like this, they’re in desperate trouble one day and in sublime bliss the next. Only God’s works turn around miracles like that for his people. There is an endless list of stories in my mind to illustrate similar happenings to this story in the Bible and in my own personal life. I’m sure you would agree. But this story of Mordecai going “From Common Man To Royal Man,” in just one day, is one of the absolute best. Never let the devil deceive you into believing it’s over. If the truth be known, your victory has not yet been written, but even without you knowing it, it’s almost complete. My word to you this AM is to trust God; it’s almost party time!

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I’m ready for a party. Yes, there’s been some STUFF, alright, but I’m holding on to your promises this AM. I will not just survive, NO! I know the party is about to begin! Amen
