S-cripture:

John 2:22b

Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.

O-bservation:

Earlier Jesus had said to the unbelieving Jews who had asked for a sign to prove who He was, “Tear this Temple down and in three days I will rebuild it.” He was referring to his eventual crucifixion and resurrection. Three years later, it happened, and when it did, this passage says, His disciples FINALLY believed who He was.

A-pplication:

Can you imagine being so thick-headed and spiritually blind as these disciples? They observed miracle after miracle, including raising several from the dead, and still they hadn’t believed Jesus was who He said He was. Consider what may have happened if they all had believed from the get-go. Certainly, we are living in “perilous times,” as St. Paul warned Timothy. Every imaginable wicked device the enemy can employ is unfolding upon us. There is a call going out to all “Followers of Jesus,” “Don’t Take So Long To Believe!”

P-rayer:

Dear Jesus,

This AM, I have something to say….LORD, I BELIEVE! Amen
