Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
S-cripture:
James 2:17
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
O-bservation:
James, the brother of our Lord, tells us that faith in and of itself is dead unless it is accompanied by action on our part. Another translation says faith without works is dead. But perhaps the way to put this in a positive light is to say, “Do What You Can And Trust God For The Rest.”
A-pplication:
Every time I’ve had to have faith that God would help me, I was required to do everything I could to make it happen as well. You can’t sit on your tail and approach God as if He were your magic genie. Remember, He’s the one giving the commands, and we are to follow His commands. It’s not the other way around. So, when you’re desperate for God’s intervention in a certain matter, first do everything you possibly can to make it happen and then trust God to do what you can’t. I have found that God ALWAYS comes through when I work that way. So, one more time, “Do What You Can Do And Trust God For The Rest.”
P-rayer:
Dear Jesus,
This AM, I’m concerned with my work capacity. The more vision You give me, the more I know I will have to improve my service unto You so You can then do what I can’t. So, like always, I’m asking for Your help again today. Amen
