20 Sep Do It Anyway!
S. O. A. P.
Here’s Your 90 second AM Devotional!
Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
Evil men who were jealous of Daniel, the man of God, had the king sign a wicked decree that stated that anyone in Babylon caught praying to any god other than King Darius for the next thirty days would be thrown into the lion’s den. Of course, they knew Daniel prayed to Jehovah three times a day. They wanted to be rid of him. But when Daniel read the decree signed by the king, the first thing he did was to go to his room and kneel and pray to his God three times a day.
As godlessness spreads in my country and worldwide, I do not doubt that the Christian Church will be persecuted. And in other parts of the world, persecution will increase. As persecution and mandates from leadership come that go against your faith and culture of worshipping God, “Do It Anyway!” Daniel knew the pain and misery of being eaten by lions would last briefly, and then he would be forever with his God in heaven. So instead of arguing that the king was wrong when he signed the edict, Daniel just went ahead and prayed anyway. He didn’t carry placards at the palace, and he didn’t write op-eds in the local newspapers that the king was not a believer in God. No! Instead, when the edict came down signed by the king, Daniel quickly ran to his room to pray. Because he did, he was thrown into the lion’s den. But God stopped the lions in their tracks, and they wouldn’t eat. Darius, the king, came down to the lion’s den the next morning and said, “Daniel are you there?” Daniel replied, “Indeed I am, king. God sent an angel of the Lord to shut the mouths of the lions, and I’m fine.” Daniel proved that when you serve the one true God, your actions may look suicidal, but in the end, they become your testimony because you went ahead and did it anyway!
With Your help, I will serve You no matter what. I know that persecution is coming to Your church in America. But I will serve You ANYWAY! Amen
